You’re Invited – Lenten Presentation (Mission)

On the very eve of Lent, our annual parish Lenten Mission will highlight one of the most accessible and compelling spiritual teachers of the Catholic faith, St. Francis de Sales (1567-1622). Please join us and come to learn about this holy priest’s intense life of faith and heroic apostolic work, his clear teaching about the virtues we need to practice if our charity is to shine brightly, and his trustworthy guidance to our best source of happiness—loving God.
The Lenten Mission’s presenter is Christopher Blum. Mr. Blum is the Academic Dean of the Augustine Institute in Denver, Colorado, where he teaches courses in Church History and Philosophy. He was the host of the Augustine Institute’s video series True Reformers: The Saints of the Catholic Reformation and has translated two works by St. Francis de Sales, The Sign of the Cross and Roses among Thorns (both published by Sophia Institute Press).

The Lenten Mission is held at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church on March 3, 4, and 5, 2019 at 7 p.m.  Confessions will be heard at 6 p.m. and there is a reception after each presentation. For more information, please contact St. Matthew’s Parish office at: 752-6788.
