A Message from Father Rod Ermatinger

Father Rod

The recent fire at St. Matthew’s Church has challenged us to fully assess our facilities and grounds and prepare our church and faith community for future generations. The day of the fire, May 12, was particularly significant for our St. Matthew’s family because 22 of our children received their first Holy Communion. It was Mother’s Day in the month of Mary!

As I reflect on the meaning of that day, I remain filled with awe by God’s grace to present us with new opportunities and endless possibilities for St. Matthew’s Church! It is our time to renew our church for the greater glory of God and, in turn, renew our commitment to our faith, our parish family and our community.
Please join me in supporting the ReNew Campaign for St. Matthew’s Church. We invite everyone to be a part of this renewal effort.

Please consider a gift to the campaign at a level that works for you. Together, we can make a difference for future generations to come.
God bless you,
Father Rod

Why the ReNew Campaign at this time?

The ReNew Campaign is a philanthropic effort to position St. Matthew’s Church as a dynamic and vibrant pillar of our Catholic faith for generations to come.

The Campaign is timely because of the fire in our church in May 2019.  While insurance will address basic damages, we see this moment as our time to come together to renew and enhance our physical spaces for the greater glory of God and to renew our faith, family and community.

What will the ReNew Campaign Funds do for St. Matthew’s Church?

The ReNew Campaign will accomplish three goals:

  • ReNew the physical church campus to include the church, the Doran Center, the parking lots, sidewalks and landscaping.
  • ReNew our faith community by restoring our commitment to the sacraments, and expanding and strengthening our youth, young adult, adult and senior programs and community outreach programs.
  • ReNew our promise to St. Matthew’s Church through the establishment of a fund to address St. Matthew’s future needs.

Campain Goal:  $1.5 Million
